Whole Wheat Bread

Ingredient’s

  • 6 1/2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons Active Yeast (not quick rise)
  • 2 1/2 cups hot water (just hot from tap not boiling)
  • 1/3 cup Salted Butter melted (may sub for oil)
  • 1/3 cup sugar ( can sub for honey)
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons salt

 

Directions

Place your yeast water and 2 cups of flour in mixer and stir and let sit till its foamy about 15 minutes or so. In separate bowl fix flour and salt together.

Now add your butter and sugar and remaining flour salt mixture. Mix until dough comes off sides of bowl. Now switch to Dough hook  attachment.

Knead the dough for approx . 7 mins in mixer or about 10 min if doing by hand.

Take dough out onto a flour surface and flatten out and separate into 2 loaves or 3 if you want smaller loafs.

Now flatten each loaf out into a rectangle

and roll each one up and pinch off around and fold ends up and pinch as well

Now place pinch side down into greased 9x 12 loaf pan

Place in oven to rise for 1 hour should be aprox 1 inch about pan. Unless you are making 3 loaves it should be just at the top of the pan last 10 min of rising preheat the oven on to 350 while the bread is still in there rising. Bake for 30 minutes.

Take out of oven and remove from pan immediately and place on cooling rack!

You may brush the tops with butter as well!!
