Kale Chips!

I tried to make Kale chips in the Dehydrator the other day and well it took me 3 days to make them in there so I have no idea what the heck is going on there but I’m trying some apples and bananas in there now to see if maybe I’m just dumb or if its the machine i bought that’s the problem.

After waiting to eat my beloved Kale chips for 3 days I decided to take them out of the dehydrator and pop them into the oven to get them to finally crisp up and FINALLY I got eat them and trust me they didn’t last long.

Kale Chips

Ingredients

Kale Leafs

Olive oil

Nutritional yeast

Directions

preheat your oven to 425

They are super easy to make and taste great as long as you cut the steam out of there that’s what gives them there bitter taste. When I cut mine up i fold the kale leaf in half and cut bite size pieces only to the stem, then proceed to cut again along the stem and then you have bite size pieces dropping into the bowl

Next you want to put enough olive oil in the bowl to coat all the pieces

Place all your pieces on a cooling rack which you will have placed on top of a cookie sheet. This is so that you don’t have to go into the oven and flip your pieces. Now make sure the pieces aren’t touching. Doing this ensures proper airflow throughout your cooking process.

Now sprinkle your nutritional yeast on top to your desired taste. ( Nutritional Yeast can be found found at your local health food store or superstore cares this as well.) Nutritional yeast gives food a cheesy taste without all the added fat of the cheese!

Place in the oven and cook for about 4-5 minutes but watch them because they can go from uncooked to burnt in a matter of seconds.

There is so many options to these I use popcorn seasonings too!! Honestly these are a great snack!! Make lots cause they don’t last long.
